Description
Brown Tiger Eye is a striking gemstone known for its silky, golden-brown luster and shimmering optical effect called chatoyancy, or “cat’s eye.” This effect is created by fibrous inclusions aligned within the quartz structure, giving the stone its iconic light-reflecting band that appears to move across its surface.
It is a member of the quartz family and forms through a pseudomorph process where quartz replaces crocidolite fibers (a blue asbestos), preserving the fibrous, layered texture.
