Aventurine is a form of quartz characterized by its shimmering, glittery effect, known as aventurescence. This sparkle is caused by tiny inclusions of minerals such as mica, hematite, fuchsite, or goethite, which reflect light and give aventurine its signature glow.
The most familiar variety is green aventurine, which owes its color and shimmer to fuchsite (a green mica). It often has a soothing, earthy appearance and a soft energy that makes it a favorite for both decorative and healing use.
